TraitLab makes it easy for you to provide every teammate with a detailed, comprehensive description of themselves — their personality traits, strengths, challenges, interaction style, and career interests.
This not only gives each teammate powerful new insights about themselves, but it also gives your team a shared vocabulary. This enables your team to have more meaningful, productive discussions about a wide range of team and interpersonal issues.
After each teammate completes the TraitLab assessment, they'll be able to access their own profile instantly, including:
This profile can be shared with anyone, making it easy for the team to share and compare results together.
First, create a free TraitLab account. Your account also allows you to purchase invite codes, share them with your team, and see when they've been redeemed.
From your Dashboard, go to Invites in the top navigation or from the center panel.
With Invites, you can purchase invite codes that can be easily shared with each teammate. You'll need one invite code for each teammate. From the Invites page, you'll be able to share a unique invite code with each teammate with a shared link or by email.
When a teammate uses the invite code at signup, their account is instantly upgraded to TraitLab Plus, giving them access to detailed personality, strengths, and career sections.
After each teammate completes the full assessment (about 30-60 minutes), they'll have a link to their public profile. They can share their public profile with you or the entire team.
There are countless ways you could integrate TraitLab into your next team-building session, but here are a few suggestions to get you started:
Top Strengths Sharing: Each teammate reviews their top strengths and chooses one or two that stand out to them as particularly relevant or surprising. One at a time, each teammate shares this strength with the entire team and describes how it impacts their work.
Team Wordcloud: Each teammate's results a ranking of up to 100 adjectives describing their personality. Take each teammate's top five words and combine them to create a team wordcloud, describing the unique character resulting from your mix of team members.
Interests Alignment: Each teammate compares their interest profile to the career category that most closely matches their current position. The interest visualization shows how well each teammate's interests align with the typical demands of that position. Ask each teammate to consider and reflect on this. Does this help them understand why they enjoy some aspects of the work but struggle with others? How could a perceived "misalignment" be turned into a strength?

Most assessments label you with a simple type, missing the important details that make a big impact. TraitLab analyzes over 80 dimensions so your results are one-of-a-kind, just like you.
Most online assessments are not based on real published research, so you can't connect your results to useful information about habits, career choices, relationships, and other practical aspects of your life.
TraitLab uses assessments and concepts from actual scientific research, then makes it easy to see how your results relate to important life areas.
TraitLab was created by me, Greg Park, Ph.D. Hi!
Before starting TraitLab, I spent years publishing research findings as a Ph.D. and postdoctoral researcher in the areas of personality and psychological measurement. I've always been fascinated by the field of personality psychology and how it can help us understand ourselves and each other.
I made TraitLab to make it easier for you to find reliable, valid, and scientifically-supported personality assessments.
Are you comfortable with investing about an hour to understand yourself better? Do you care about scientific validity? Do you like to get into details and data?
If you answered yes to these questions, then you'll probably love TraitLab. I made it for people like me — people looking for a very detailed, comprehensive picture of their personality, strengths, and interests, backed by scientific research.
But if you are looking for a quick and fun personality quiz, TraitLab is probably not the best fit for you.
Most people will start seeing their first results after about 10 minutes (about 100 questions).
If you want to see every possible result from TraitLab, the full assessment can take anywhere from 30-90 minutes. However, you can always save your progress and take the assessment across several sittings.
There are over 700 potential questions currently in TraitLab, but you'll begin seeing results after the first 100 questions.
New questions are added regularly, but most questions are optional and only needed for advanced analyses.
Yes! With TraitLab Plus, you can reset your profile and results anytime from your account settings.
