The DiSC and DiSC Profile assessments describe individuals as a blend of four personality profiles — dominance, influence, steadiness, and conscientiousness — which originated from a 1928 book, Emotions of Normal People by William Moulton Marston.
TraitLab is a platform that integrates several personality models, including typologies similar to the MBTI, to help you understand your personality, career interests, interpersonal style, and unique strengths.
Individuals are complex. TraitLab uses measures over 80 different dimensions to identify your combination of personality traits, career interests, interpersonal style, and character strengths.
While millions of people share similar DiSC profiles, your TraitLab results are unique to you.
TraitLab identifies your top character strengths, then suggests ways to leverage these strengths in your daily life.
Unlike the DiSC, TraitLab goes beyond a general personality description, translating it into more practical character strengths that you can exercise in professional and personal contexts.
DiSC profile assessments broadly describe your personality, but they do not provide any insight into how your personality and interests align with other occupations or career paths.
TraitLab allows you to easily explore how your personality profile compares with hundreds of occupations. These comparisons can reveal varying strengths and challenges across occupations, so you can better understand the trade-offs and opportunities behind different career paths.

Most assessments label you with a simple type, missing the important details that make a big impact. TraitLab analyzes over 80 dimensions so your results are one-of-a-kind, just like you.
Most online assessments are not based on real published research, so you can't connect your results to useful information about habits, career choices, relationships, and other practical aspects of your life.
TraitLab uses assessments and concepts from actual scientific research, then makes it easy to see how your results relate to important life areas.
TraitLab was created by me, Greg Park, Ph.D. Hi!
Before starting TraitLab, I spent years publishing research findings as a Ph.D. and postdoctoral researcher in the areas of personality and psychological measurement. I've always been fascinated by the field of personality psychology and how it can help us understand ourselves and each other.
I made TraitLab to make it easier for you to find reliable, valid, and scientifically-supported personality assessments.
Are you comfortable with investing about an hour to understand yourself better? Do you care about scientific validity? Do you like to get into details and data?
If you answered yes to these questions, then you'll probably love TraitLab. I made it for people like me — people looking for a very detailed, comprehensive picture of their personality, strengths, and interests, backed by scientific research.
But if you are looking for a quick and fun personality quiz, TraitLab is probably not the best fit for you.
Most people will start seeing their first results after about 10 minutes (about 100 questions).
If you want to see every possible result from TraitLab, the full assessment can take anywhere from 30-60 minutes. However, you can always save your progress and take the assessment across several sittings.
There are over 700 potential questions currently in TraitLab, but you'll begin seeing results after the first 100 questions.
New questions are added regularly, but most questions are optional and only needed for advanced analyses.
There are several free tools here at TraitLab that can help you learn quite a bit about your personality.
For more advanced analyses of your traits, strengths, and interests, you can purchase TraitLab Plus. TraitLab Plus costs $49 for a single individual, and there are discounts on purchases of three or more assessments. TraitLab also offers discounts for non-profit organizations.
With a free account, you can easily manage and purchase invites for clients, teammates, and anyone else you think might benefit from TraitLab.
Within the Invites section of your free account, you'll be able to send invite codes to others, see when they've been redeemed, and collaborate on assessment results.
Absolutely! If you want to share and compare your results with anyone, you can simply share your public profile.
For example, here's my own public profile here at TraitLab.
I'm always updating TraitLab to make it more useful and interesting. If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, please let me know. I'd love to hear from you!
