Overview
Interpersonal Style results in TraitLab Pro describe a member's typical style of interacting with others, managing relationships, and dealing with conflict. Understanding these patterns can help you optimize team dynamics and communication strategies.
Interpersonal Style is strongly influenced by two dimensions: Assertiveness and Warmth.
Assertiveness describes the tendency to assert oneself, lead, and influence others in social situations. People higher on assertiveness are more likely to take charge, give direction, and exert their influence. Less assertive people tend to be reserved, observant, and less willing to direct others.
Warmth describes the tendency to empathize and put others' needs ahead of one's own. People higher on warmth are trusting, empathetic, and relatively more concerned about the well-being of others. People lower on warmth are more skeptical, distant, and less affected by the wants and needs of others.
These two dimensions are independent, and many combinations of Assertiveness and Warmth are possible across individuals.

Interpersonal style visualization
For each member, their position on interpersonal dimensions relative to a large, diverse sample is shown in a circular plot, with Assertiveness on the vertical axis and Warmth on the horizontal axis.
This two-dimensional space can be further categorized into eight octants, which roughly correspond to patterns of interpersonal behavior.
Distance from the center of the plot can be interpreted as the intensity of the member's interpersonal style. The center is defined by the average on both interpersonal dimensions, and points further away from the center indicate larger deviations from the average and a more prominent style.
